I just bought a frame and the BB is 68mm wide and 50mm (2") in diameter (inside). What type of BB and cranks am I to use? Can I just take sealed bearings out of an American BB and press them in?

Integrated headsets are totally over rated. I dont like the integrated headset i have now. Sure it looks pretty, but if the races ever get messed you have to buy a new frame. All this worry to save a tiny bit of weight.

Spanish BB's are pretty cool because of how convienient it is to service the BB. Just pop out the bearing, grease, put new bearing in.

I dont think its to save weight, its for easier installation/replacement and clean look. if you keep it tightened up, it would be pretty hard to mess up the headtube.

since spanish bb came shortly after the usa (yes euro was beetween the two, i believe it was for weight. a usa bb weights atleast twice as much as a spanish.

There's 2 Spanish BBs.

One is 19mm, one is 22mm.

What size is your crank spindle? You need that size.

OK but, what size is the spindle?

I'm assuming 19mm but I don't have the cranks so I can't say.

You could take an arm off and measure the spindle. Or find the cranks online and it should say what size they are.
