Nope they are 100% different.

I have a rigid 26" mtb and im getting a bmx now on the side.

MTB is a completely different world and all rigid does for it is makes it even more different.

lots of people seem to have a mountain bike as much as they can possibly get to look like a fashionable bmx, which is pretty gay :/

it's not about the looks, it's about how it rides, and for street it's fine too ride rigids, singlespeed (and brakeless)

and it doesn't feel like a bmx at all, people stop comparing mtb to bmx

Its closer then running a DJ fork. I went from 26" suspension, to 26" rigid, then i strait up bought a bmx.

Yeah, I don't really get why people think it rides like a bmx??
It rides like a hardtail with a rigid fork, not like a bmx Big Grin
