Anyone think that the PNW Components Loam Lever might work as a replacement for the shapeshifter lever ?
Looks good and with matchmaker. You can use any dropper post lever with the shapeshifter. I've used a gutted xtr front mech lever and now using a spesh command post lever. All improve on the canyon paddle.
Good to know, many thanks, does the cable lever simply ‘engage’ the shapeshifter on or off? (ie does it hold it under tension) How much hassle is it to replace the lever ?

The cable essentially opens a valve inside the shifter and when you push your weight down you pop the linkage over center allowing the piston to retract and pop into DH mode. Pressing again and unweighting the rear allows the pressure on the barrel side to push the piston out again. The cable doesn't stay under tension; only when you depress the lever. If tension is too high in your cable the valve is held open, or at least ajar enough, to allow the piston to be pushed back out and you can't stay in DH.
Essentially the shapeshifter is a smaller version of a dropper post in its actuation.
Can't say how easy it is to change levers as I've never done it. Happy with the Canyon lever although I know it could be better.
Interesting but also seems relatively late for a model intro (but then saying that the current strive iteration has survived a good few years). Wondering wether to hang on or go for something like a yeti or Santa Cruz????

Canyon are asking for people to sign up for a chance to test ride a unreleased new bike at a secret test day in the Surrey hills (UK) at the end of This month. You sign up and if you win you get a day riding what I would guess is the new strive.

Are they asking via email or website?? Do you have a link? Really curious.
