Maybe do some more digging, ask if you can pick it up in person at a police station, gauge their answer, or see what they say if you want to pay with PayPal goods. The price it self doesn't seem off, lower end, and older spec...

If you were interested, if ask a lot of questions concerning condition, in the picture of the crank, the rear rim seems to have a large ding/dent, could be dirty but worth asking.

I messaged him but he hasn't opened it

Very dodgy.

It might get removed if there's a link to the Canadian ad from 2014.

I'd start by just asking for additional pics. It's your money and you have a right to see what you are buying. As well, this will insure they actually have the item (usually). I always do this first just to be sure they have it + you get to see the item's condition better. If they took one picture of it, they can take 5. If they don't oblige, move on.

I wouldn't do it after viewing his bare profile. People who are really into the hobby/sport don't have profiles like this, though everyone starts out with a bare profile.

Has anybody had any dealings with this guy?

I purchased a pair of shoes from him over a month ago and was promised delivery within the week. After much chasing and being told they would be delivered I asked for my money back. Once again, I have been promised a refund every few days, but no refund has yet been made.

I would just like to warn anyone thinking of buying anything from antiquesroadtrip to think again, as they don't seem honest or able to sort out a refund.

Scammer - antiquesroadtrip

Paid for the BOS spring on the 9th March 2016 (foolishly by bank transfer) and have never received the spring.
He is no longer opening, or answering e-mails..... BEWARE!!

Granted not a large sum of money involved, but it is only time before somebody does lose out with a greater amount.

Lesson Learned.

I was scammed by luijjimiguel on here https://www.pinkbike.com/u/luijjimiguel/
Tried to make me wait a month for the bike before I did anything which I think is when money would have cleared.
Thank god I read the buy/sell guide as I would have happily paid by bank transfer or paypal gift not knowing.

Make sure you use Paypal goods only!!

Had my money back within 4 days!

You are not alone I think I've been scamed bt BGCanada as well I filed a claim with paypal the seller was responceive until I pay the item once it was paid he deleted the ad an never provided me any tracking number. I seached the forums tonight it seems like I am not the first one that as been scammed by this user he should be banned, we dont need that kind of crooks in our community of bikers...

So I am pretty sure I have been scammed by BGCanada. I hadn't heard from him all week despite efforts to contact him. Like I said in a previous post, he was very responsive on this site when I was inquiring about certain items but once paid then my messages went unseen or read. It looks like he was on the site updating his ads though because even though my messages were going unread new items were on the top of his ad list. He finally responded to me Thurs saying that he had a tracking # for my stuff and that he would give it to me that afternoon but then I never heard from him, then in his next message he still hadn't given me a tracking # but instead asked for my phone # so he could call me. I provided him that and even hours to reach me and I haven't heard from him since by phone or on pinkbike. I have now filed a paypal claim. For someone that seems to operate selling things on here as a businsess he has very poor customer service skills. I would advise anyone that is going to purchase stuff from this seller to be very cautious and maybe the only route would be to do a pick up type thing and give them cash at the time of the pickup.

Firstly can we agree that being scammed is NOT the same as being shown poor service? If BGCanada, with almost 500 sales and 196 followers, does not come through with the goods then so be it but until then.....? I am not a fan of sellers being named and shamed as scammers until they have indeed done so. There could be a very good reason for the delay but without specific dates on the above posts it is hard for other users, me, to gauge the situation that has caused the buyers such angst. This forum has seen sellers outed as scammers simply because the buyer hasnt had a reply for 48 hours and, given this guys credentials (and the insurance of having paid Paypal GOODS) I would give him/her a good week or so to let me know what's occurring. How long are we taking between payment and seller going quiet on you? I guess if its long enough to file a claim on paypal then it must be more than a few days/a week?
I sincerely hope you get sorted but he/she doesnt have the profile of your stereotypical scammer and a couple of wayward transactions out of 499 shouldnt define him/her as such, in my opinion anyway (....prepares to be told otherwise).
Good luck and please keep the forum updated know that you have named and shamed him/her.

I eventually did get my stuff after much run around. I was told my stuff had been shipped and that a tracking number would be provided but then I wasn't given it. The seller only contacted me when he noticed that I put in a paypal claim, at that point we spoke and he told me that my stuff hadn't shipped and that the one item I paid for he didn't have anymore anyways. Long story short, I did eventually get my one item, eventually got a refund on the item that he didn't have any more, but it took some real trouble on my part. So, yes, he isn't a scammer, but his customer service is poor especially for someone that operates a business selling things on this site.

This is my bike. Those are my pictures. That is my garden.

I really own a red SC blur TR with enve wheels and green brakes and hubs.

If you buy it from 'Joe1964', you'll be scammed and he'll steal your money.

Here it is for actual sale on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Santa-Cruz-blur-TR-ENVE-Hope-green-reverb-xtr-kit-/172127677171?hash=item28139beaf3

If you want you can come and see it in the flesh (metal/carbon) and touch it and then buy it. I'll take 1900.

Is there a way to tell if someone has read a messege that you sent them? Starting to get a little sketched out, I sent payment for a bike 2 days ago and seller hasn't responded since. Before I sent the payment seller was responding very quickly if before 8

There is a little envelope icon which will disappear when the user has read your msg
