Has this guy had suspicious activity before? I am pretty sure I have seen this same ad with the same pictures under another users profile before... and that is a DHS Mono 2:1, not a FXR!

Just feeling a bit suspicious, is all...

Heads up, my son is selling his bike on the site (I am trying to show him how things work in the world) he got someone text him directly and said he got his number off this site. I am not sure how he got his number because it was not listed publicly. My son worked out a price with the guy and the guy sent us a check for $2100 over the amount of the bike. The buyer stated that he wanted us to cash the check and give his buddy, who was going to pick it up the $2100 for shipping the bike to him. The check looks legit and it even came in certified mail.

I am concerned about how this person got my sons phone number and that this person is scamming people off the site. Not sure if anyone else has had an issue like this?

The site worked well for me last year when I purchased the bike for my son...

Definitely a scam. One of the older ones. The cheque will be a dud.

Walk away.

From BuySell Tips -

5. They offer you more money for what you are asking for.
Wether it be they are offering you £50 on top of the
money you sold the bike for, for selling the bike to them,
or diabolical offers such as £500 when you are only
selling your bike for £200.

6. Try to stay away from cashier's cheques and Western
Union since many of these are fake and used by scammers.

7. DO NOT Accept Cheque Payment by anyone, always cash
in hand or Paypal.

There is a scammer who texted me about buying my bike and sending me money by PayPal. I even talked to him, but couldn't understand much because of his strong accent. We exchanged a few more texts until I found out he's lying about his "hauling" company. I'm not sure what exactly the mechanism of the scam is, but if you receive a text message from 1-213-338-4203 (2133384203), be cautious.

Potential Scammer Report -- User Michael12169

User reached out to me about a rear triangle I am selling, and after some research I picked out some red flags.

1. Just created his user account today (Aug 4 2021) -- no information on his user page
2. Referred to the rear triangle as "item".
3. Insisted I download Cash App so they could pay me -- they would not download PayPal, even after I insisted on covering the fee for Goods and Services
4. The user offered me above what I was asking, even after they asked me what is the lowest price I would take
5. My final message summed up explained to the buyer that I would not use Cash App and only PayPal going forward -- the user has stopped all communication

I could be getting ahead of myself here, but in the interest of other users I felt I should at least post this as a reference.
