This user has been reported here before, and although the user that reported him eventually received their item, it appears it took some legwork from a few different people. Looks like JosephVanRoekel is at it again, however. Paid for a Shimano XT brake set on 1/15/22, up to which point communication was great. Since then, he said he would "look for the tracking" on at least 3 occasions, never actually producing anything. 10 days out seems like way more than enough time to ship a small package a few states over. I have also disputed this transaction with Venmo (I used the option with purchase protection).

Just want to warn anyone who may search his username, as he has multiple items for sale. Buyer beware!

It’s pathetic that a known scammer is allowed to continue on this site

Seems Outside is helping his plight as well. Instead of posting pay articles on the Pinkbike main page, how about putting some time into getting rid of the scammers

Got me as well (should have looked here first). Bought an Aircraft 2 helmet from him. Super responsive until the PayPal was sent. Claimed he shipped, and would look for tracking info. Never sent and became unresponsive. No helmet. Paypal returned funds. First crappy experience here.

To the other posters point, how is this guy allowed to continue on the site? What the heck Pinkbike?

Unfortunately this thread is only accessed by mods on an adhoc basis, you need to contact Isaacshmidt directly, I have also reported him by using the "report user" tab at the bottom of the profile page (on a desktop). Hopefully this will now flag him and get him pulled

I just did on your behalf.

This is actually not helpful from a metric or tracking standpoint.

I've reached out to Joseph already and he's not been on in a few days.

Question, what's pinkbike's current stance on people scalping/scamming? I've seen more than a few adds of bikes that are 2/3 years old, posted for over MSRP. Morally, that's pretty f*cked up, and I have reported a few. Not sure if it's relevant if it isn't something Pinkbike is looking into.

Sorry for adding more to your plate, in short.

We use bowls to serve sherbet, no worries.

It’s a weird line right to draw right, made more so by the last few years. It’s also extremely manual and time consuming to monitor outside of what’s reported. A unique challenge to an internet marketplace.

Well how else do you suggest you warn people? It seems there's not much done when people don't deliver or blatantly scam.

Also as I write this he is online....
