blushriderx scammed me out of $780.00 for a Marin Mount Vision. I paid for the bike using Venmo and after payment the bike was never posted as being sold. I had my son message him about the bike saying he wanted it and he said it was still available. That happened a day after I paid for it. I notified my bank and venmo and they said they can't do anything about it. I'm in the proce6of trying to get a refund. All the messages on here have been deleted for some reason. Is there anyway you have any of his info? From his registration info?

Should you be weary of recently created accounts with no post history? I am trying to sell an expensive bike but I get turned off by brand new accounts even if it is local pickup..

It’s right to be wary however some buyers may have to make an account to message you , hence the new account. Local pick up should be fine just make sure you meet in a communal place (a police station car park is always a good shout). Don’t allow any test rides or hand the bike over without payment and take a friend with you, follow the above and you should be fine

I've had good luck selling to new users. Use common sense and you'll be fine.

Jake buddy, you're doing gods work. But can you please respond below the quote.

Reason for reporting the user --> I paid Ericwing $350 for a set of wheels and tires four weeks ago (May 15) and never received it. He twice said he'd refund me (on June 4, and on June 8 ). No refund yet and no communication since June 8. I will update this post if I hear from him. More details below:

I paid $350 for EB 1535 wheels and tires on Sunday evening May 15. Made the mistake of using Venmo thinking I'd be able to specify purchase. Condensed version:
After a number of messages from May 15 - 25 saying 'it'll ship today or tomorrow', on Thursday May 26, the seller said he shipped the item on Wednesday May 25, but did not provide tracking info after multiple requests.
On Monday May 30 I said I needed tracking info or a refund. He did not respond to multiple messages between Tuesday May 31 and Friday June 3 (sent via pinkbike and text message, and one voicemail).
On Saturday morning June 4 the seller pinkbike messaged me and said "I will send refund." I sent a Venmo request, a Venmo reminder, and multiple messages via pinkbike and text (and one more voicemail) over the next few days. Seller responded on June 8 saying "I'll do it tonight when I get home".
As of now (June 12 at 10:55pm ET), seller has been online at least three times since June 8 but has not responded to my pinkbike messages (and they appear to be unread). He is also not responding to text messages and I believe he has blocked my cell phone number. I've also offered that I'm willing to take a few smaller payments.

If the seller responds or sends the refund I will update this post.

PB user djv17 has contacted me several times about buying a bike frame I have for sale. I became suspicious when he commented he said "I would provide shipping label". Then he followed that up with, "How soon can you ship". All of his replies have been vague at regarding pricing breakdowns and options for shipping and insurance, simply ignoring my question and stating I'll pay x amount and provide shipping label.

NEVER EVER allow someone to provide a shipping label. That's got scam written all over it. The user has no info on his profile.

Proceed with caution.

Bike posted that I bought from “ https://www.pinkbike.com/u/KiraBmtb/”. Was fraudulent. Bike arrived Unrideable, no seat, no post, destroyed tires, most screws missing from breaks and gears. Seller is unresponsive. Probably out 1000 to get this bike rideable again. It’s only 1500 list price. It was supposed to be in excellent condition with dropper. All lies. Photos cropped and shopped.

How did you pay ? If Paypal goods and services, you have recourse, other methods I'm not familiar with.

If the bike arrived not as described or in the photos, best course of action and recourse is with paypal or other secure payment provider.
