This person/profile is a Scammer: https://www.pinkbike.com/u/andrejradovan/
His listing is SOLD but he just scammed me and I am licking my wounds. His profile is active on Pinkbike and should be blocked.
So you just going to call him a scammer without any explanation? Would be great if you told your side and offered proof rather than just saying that without any context.
Another scam account, there's like 5 new scam accounts with live ads now. You guys gotta change the criteria for making accounts on here. It's too easy to just open a new account everytime it gets removed.
I’m pointing out a scammer or that someone’s account was hacked and you’re being a complete douche bag who’s not intelligent enough to quote a post that you’re directly referring to. You should go back to school for basic comprehension skills!

The bike was listed in Vancouver and, when I messaged via PB he stated that he was back I Germany and could shop the bike. I did my math and offered a price and he accepted. Then he sent me a video of the bike via whatsapp together with a picture of his ID card and receipt for the bike. When we discussed shipping he told me that he was using Bike24.com to facilitate the sale and shipping and he would then purchase a new bike via Bike24.com. I challenged the proposal to pay using a money transfer and the bank account, while it matched the real Bike24.com, seemed odd with a Romanian name. I started to receive emails from a consultant at Bike24.com. The email template was exactly the same EXCEPT that the url was Bike24h.com whereas the real website is Bike24.net. The real company confirmed the scam.

Totally agree. PB please look into vetting new accounts if you can because it's us punters that pay the price no matter how many warnings you post.
Something fishy is going on with a seller called riclland.
User: https://www.pinkbike.com/u/riclland/ Ad: https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/3417665/ Reason: I didn't get scammed, but the interactions I had with this seller raised some red flags. They were selling a Ripcord for an amazing price. It seemed too good to be true and the account didn't have much history, but the ad was pretty detailed so I reached out. Traded some messages with the seller and then a phone call and a couple of texts. The call felt a little bit off, and they wouldn't accept paypal, only venmo. I bailed and told the seller as much through a text. The bike sold, but a couple of days later they reached out asking if I was interested and said if I could pay half the asking price then they could ship it and I could pay the rest after it arrived. Super sketchy. I'm trying to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, but decided to post about my experiences here to warn others in the community who might be considering purchasing something from them. Just be careful.

At the end of the day we cannot fault Pinkbike for all the warning advice. I ignored 2 key pieces of advice because I was lured by a slick operation using videos and whatsapp.
That said, in this day and age, of cyber security we need to build a better vetting process for would be sellers in order to build a firewall against heartless scammers.
I am so upset that my love of cycling has been tainted by losing CAD5k to a scammer but I can only blame myself.
Pinkbike, it is your duty to safeguard innocent towers of cycling from these scam artists.
Put an offer on a Scott Spark 900 RC Pro (https://m.pinkbike.com/buysell/3402575/) being listed by mui92 (https://m.pinkbike.com/u/mui92/), which they accepted. Asked for photos of the cockpit and underside of downtube to close deal (and make sure they were a real person), and never received a response on the request. Started feeling scammy so I did a reverse image search and found this: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/dual-suspension-bikes/574946/scott-spark-rc-900-pro
The listing shows same exact photos for the bike that was just sold in Cape Town, SA 3 weeks ago. Now mui92 is supposedly selling it from Philadelphia. Definitely a scam.
It does seem like PB could do better. I don't buy anything off here anymore unless I can do it in person. I did recently make a purchase from a seller on BMXmuseum.com, they have a rating system like eBay. I had a very positive experience . it seems if they can have that extra layer of protection for all involved a much bigger site like PB could too.

Be aware. There's several SRAM XX1 cassettes listed daily at too good to be true prices and they are a scam. Not to mention SRAM AXS upgrade kits. Piece of shit scammers are everywhere!
