Don't hate, fatbikes are here to stay.

Winter conditions can be perfect for fatbikes:

-Low snowfalls
-Packed down trails by walkers
-Fatbike friendly Nordic Centres
-Long transition seasons (Fall, Spring) not enough snow to ski, too wet to ride
-Shops rent them now
-Hardcore trail ninja's snowshoe pack and shovel local trails

This thread is for:

-Fatbike discussion and info
-Fatbike trails and riding areas
-Fatbike rental shops
-Links to classifieds
-Fatbike festivals

Salsa and Surly have been the industry drivers, loads of other micro-brew brands out there too. This isn't an exhaustive list but i'll do my best.

Enjoy!

While I have zero desire to own one. I have to admit that I'd like to DH one just once for kicks.

I rode one in queensland earlier this year.Forget the brand but the guy said it was made in Alaska and it had front shocks and was suprisingly light. It was actually a really good ride i rode it on sand and some big tree roots and it just floated over everything. The full susser would be awesome for the mountains here at the moment as the snow is starting to melt rapidly....
