Cheers Scott

Please if you already own this bike do you love it or hate it? I'm thinking of buying the frame and building it up.

I bought Trance4, and I changed all components, and you can buy a 200*57 shock, to get 158mm of travel.

I got my Gaint Trance 27.5 1 a few days ago and I already love it! I come from a downhill background so I was a little worried it wouldn't handle my abuse but so far it's a very capable bike that can handle just about everything. Climbing or descending she'll shred!

Here she is, running a single ring up front and loving it!

Beautiful Bike! I am going to run a single ring too. Nice to hear it's durable.
Thanks

Thanks man! I highly recommend it, running a 30 tooth Raceface narrow wide ring and couldn't be happier.

did you actually try that? did the rear end not touch the main frame?

I want to replace my shock (and the fork as well), but not sure if I should go for the 51 or 57 stroke?!

so far I am very happy with it - here a short review: Giant Trance 1 27.5 2014 Review

basically. stock shock is actualy 7.875x2.25 but travel is limited internally.. so if you take air out of the shock and bottom out the shock it bottoms out at 2" stroke.

i ran float x 7.875x2.25 before i sold the bike and it didn't touch anything on bottom out.
on the upside, you get more travel out of your trance

Monarch plus 200*57 run perfect. Mine is L size, but no problem with M size too.

Full compression without air:

Giant trance 27.5

Giant trance 27.5

Giant trance 27.5

What do you estimate the clearance on the spar to seat tube clearance is?? Looks like 5mm. Have you had those impact on hard bottoming hits due to the frame flexing? Very interested in running the 200x57. Thank you.

yeah, I think about 5 mm or less...but I think no problem with that....only one ride with the bike at the moment and no problem.
would be too vertical flexion frame to have contact...no?
