anyone got any suggestions? fed up with my feet sliding off the peddles and my shins getting it!

looking at them as they are about my price range.... anyother suggestions or ones i should be looking at too?

Teva links are good, or maybe look at 5.10 Impacts as well. 5.10' have phenomenal amounts of grip. In fact, some riders can find them too grippy!

Also, what pedals are you currently running? Having good shoes won't help if your pedals are not very grippy in the first place.

Yeah, get fivetens, the grip combined with flat pedals is incredible. Plus they have a very ridgid sole which helps a lot with comfort and control of the bike. And yes they grip to a point that if your feet is incorrectly placed on your pedals, you can't "twist" it into position simply will not move. Check into the impacts or in the slightly less bulky freerider. Those are as close to clipless as possible.

regretting SPD's a bit as I seem to keep falling off my pedals are a bit shit. might get some better pedals and try get some practice on SPD's

Either would be good, although I would lean towards the 5.10's myself (although I am a bit biased on these, as I own 2 pairs of impacts).
