Hey guys, I know this has been probably covered but I'm looking at a 2012 Marzocchi 55 CR and I'd like to take it down from 170mm to 150mm.

I've read about this spacer but I'm unsure where to locate it. Is it inside and just needs to be moved to the other side of the spring?

You need to provide the spacer. It's on eBay I believe. 10 and 20mm increments are available. My CR Slope came with them.

Actually sorry...the fork I was looking at was listed as the TA model...170 and 130 adjustment.

Could the spacer trick still work for this? Say bring it down to 150 and adjust to 130?

The TA forks should do it without the need of opening the fork/modding.
If it were the case, all the forks (or nearly all) should be TA..

So are you sure you have a TA version?

The video you linked, just shows the TA-Travel Adjust feature.. The fork I am interested in has the same feature so it would adjust from 170 to 130.

What I'm wondering is if I can do the spacer mod and move the fork down from 170 to 150 and still utilise the travel adjust from 150 to 130.

In other words, I don't want a 170mm fork on my bike, most I can do is 160.

I do not know the TA cart types, but what you could do is change the internals of the spring part, so convert your fork into a normal air sprung fork, or even a coil fork. Then you surely will have the possibility of lowering it.

Its not as simple as you may think. Sure it may be possible but its quite a bit of work if its possible. Marzocchi does not have images of the internals of a Ta cartridge. Its very hard to tell how they are using their travel lock. If you want to send me your Ta fork ill gladly try to lower it and keep it so you still have travel adjust.

One possibility is that the TA works like ETA carts did - when locked, they still allowed for a rest of 20-30 mm of travel.
Could be the same for TA (just a thought - I am not a suspension specialist).
Other subject, do you think a DBC cart could be modded into open bath?

I have a set of 04 DJ3's, and I wanted to raise them from 100mm. I looked through about 85 pages, and couldn't see anything about how/ where to rearrange the spacer. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I'm certain I have the taking them all apart down, just need to see where to put the spacer. I'm a visual person, so pictured would be the best.

Thanks in advance.

Marzocchi 350 NCR

Fork is making wistles when coming up.
When Rebound is rotated fully to "-" almost no wistlee, but if rotate it to "+" it became more and more louder.
Any suggestions, please?

Have a 2016 dj1 100mm that came on my haro SR1.3 . I wanted to lower to 80mm. Read the whole thread. Did the spacer drop. Everything seemed fine until I added the oil and it came right out by the damper adj.dial. Thought I forgot to tighten it so I cranked it down thinking leaking would stop. Big f*ck up. I couldn't get it back apart and destroyed the damper rod in the process. Dremmeled out the bottom nut and had the cupped bushing /washer upside down. Doh! So, I had an old 2007+/- dj1 from another bike and decided to try swapping the dampening rod but it was a lot shorter as the stantions were longer. So it would have been like 65mm travel. So I took the top out spring and cut it in half, heated it up and squeezed the end of the coil and ground it flat. It all went back together perfectly with 75mm travel. That top nut was a bitch tho. Love the steeper HA. I run it really stiff With around 35 psi in the air preload.

Hey guys, does anybody have a Marzocchi 66 RCV by any chance? Or access to a compression damper from a Marzocchi fork? I just need a few pictures if anybody does.

Will pay for the right info!

I think 100mm is all it can do. But I wouldn't know. I'd just take it apart and see what's in there .if it had any kind of spacer stacked on the spring just remove it or cut it. The more you cut the higher the fork will ride. If you've read this whole thread, you should have enough information to pull it off.

Hello.
Few questions about my new Marzocchi 350 NCR 2016 MY2016 - 350 NCR_RF1-00.pdf
So, fork disassembled. I'v got Molykote 55 grease, Motorex FETT 2000 grease, Castrol Moly Grease with Molibdenum, Motul Fork Oil Light Medium SAE 7.5W.

1) What grease to use when lubing the rod (#50 datasheet, #3 my photo)?
https://youtu.be/HLnY-Gap-1M?t=327 - here he uses some dense grease (and a lot of it). When I disassembled my fork there was more fluid grease.
https://youtu.be/bUBF5gjdR9w?t=554 - here he didn't even use any grease...

If somebody will advise to grease with Molykote 55 - is it so? I mean, that grease is very expensive, I thought it should be used in some other places where we need a little bit of grease...

2) I didn't change oils seals and dust seals in lower legs. Should I grease them (inner diammeter of each seal)? With what? Molykote 55?

3) Where and how much to pour the oil?
https://youtu.be/bUBF5gjdR9w?t=710 - he pourred some quantity to each lower leg (I don't understand how it didn't came out?..); and some quantity of oil to stanchion where after that he will put in air chamber https://youtu.be/bUBF5gjdR9w?t=871
https://youtu.be/HLnY-Gap-1M?t=496 - he pourrer 20cc into air chamber and 15cc into stanchion with DBC.

Question about #84 (5321504/P FIXING NUT SLV STA/ATA TOP SEAL) and #41(8032290/P CARTRIDGE DBC NCR REBOUND UNIT 160)
photo

So, trying to assemble it. When nut is almost fixed on rod - rod is starting to round and round and .. So I cannot finish that job. What to do?
