1.5-2 degree anglesets add 10mm to the stack height. So, you couldn’t do it with your current 36...

Faction 2 that I built up this spring. I have made some changes since these photos were taken though, I will get take new ones eventually. This bike is amazing, most fun DJ I have owned, super playful and easy to throw around but very stable at the same time.

OK.... any one had have this problem???
Insurgent 2017 Slime.
34T Absolute Black Oval Chainring on a XT M8000 Cranks.
Stock Monarch RT3 Shock
Evil's website says 36T is the biggest chainring you can run on in, so the 34T oval would be OK.
If I flip the cracks it passes near but never ever touches the chainstay.

Pictures of my pain... I hope its only paint.
I ended putting some epoxy.

I think I've read that Evil states oval rings aren't compatible with the Insurgent.

I also remember reading somewhere that the max oval chainring that they would approve is 32t.

Thats definitely not just paint :/

That looks rad man! Have you had a chance to throw a leg over a new monk? Curious on how they compare? I just got an xl monk this year so sadly I doubt I'll be getting rid of it any time soon but the Faction 2 will probably replace it when the time comes.
