How are people extracting old bearings from the flip chip? I bought a Wheels MFG bearing press set but it doesn’t have a 19mm drift (the bearing is 11x19x7). I have seen people use PVC and a socket to push it out. Does that work, should I be worried about the bearing splitting?
on all of my evils ive used a socket and a c clamp to push out and press in the bearings,
Sweet! And you’re not worried about getting the socket stuck in the hole when pushing it out?

not at all, just line up a socket so it covers the bearing, and pop that sucker out.
it weights the same as a Storia V3, and it will never perform like one, go coil, you'll never regret it!
Not sure I'd agree in this case. While I'm generally a fan of coils, the Offering is such a sweet, playful bike with a good air shock. Going coil with one would sort of be trying to make it into a mini-Wreckoning.
I think you'd lose the poppy, trailbike feel of the Offering without the travel of the Wreckoning.

Yes and no. I’ve got the push coil and it does feel much more muted than an air shock, but it still is quite playful and poppy while still tracking really well on descents. Honestly I prefer it with the coil than the air

That’s what I did x-low 160 fork push in the rear, -1º headset, it is a mini wreckoning It’s still as poppy as it was when I had the x2 It’s much more calm when you land from every poppy jib you pull, it tracks better, it climbs better, I just went with faster rebound than what push recommended, and it feels awesome. Better than any air shock tried, it just weights more and you don’t feel it.
Plus, it never slows me down even at the bikepark, the limiting factor is always me, so more travel ( wreckoning ) won’t help me sadly
Has anyone here tried a Pivot Switchblade? How does it compare to the Offering? I have a great deal on a new pivot switchblade X01 build for $5500. which is very tempting. I have previously had an Evil Following and Wreckoning that I really liked, but the base offering LS will cost about a grand more than the Pivot for a spec that in my opinion is not quite as great.
how poppy is the offering compared to the following?
I am buying one or the other in the next few days, so any input is appreciated!
I live in St. George Utah, so rocky chunky terrain is common, and I enjoy going to Deer Valley bike park in Park city as well. I like jumps, drops, chunky terrain, and love small bump compliance.

I am always biased towards Evil, but I have an Offering in the garage and I'd say go with the Offering. Evil Bikes are kinda party on the trails bikes (short chain stays) so if you're looking for that, the Offering would be your best bet.

I would say try and demo both of them. If you compare the geo they are surprisingly similar, both having 430 CS and similar ht angles. I would love to get on a switchblade myself. I currently own an Offering and a Firebird and a switchblade could be a really fun mashup of those bikes personalities.

I have ridden both bikes(and also live in Utah fwiw) The Switchblade is more efficient and climbs faster, however it doesn't have the same confidence and plush but still supportive feel of the Offering on the way down. I found that I got a lot more pedal strikes on the Evil as well which might be a factor for St. George riding. Basically if you want a classic trail bike feel go with the Switchblade and pick the Offering if you want something that compromises a bit on the climbs for added descending capability.

You'd be hard pressed to find someone demoing an Evil though.
Theres a shop in the town right by St. George that demos both bikes. (Over The Edge Hurricane)
Thanks everyone for your comments, really appreciate the input!
The local shop in Hurricane doesn’t t have any Offerings, even though their website says they do, and won’t for about a month. But I have ridden the Pivot around and it seems to have a more similar suspension feel to the following than my wrecker had. Just firmer and not as supple, but extremely little pedal bob and tons of pop.
I think I am looking at 2 A+ options, just different.
I would also get a Push 11-6 coil on whatever bike I purchased to swap air and coil for rougher terrain and park days as well.
Anyone with an Insurgent V2 and onwards had issues with the headset bearings fitting very tight in the frame? Mine fit so tight they need to be tapped out if I ever want to clean the cups and re-grease them.
Hello everyone, I wanted to ask you. I'm looking to buy a 2015 evil insurgent in perfect condition, I'm 5.7 feet. The use that I am going to give it is enduro and bike parks. Do you think a size M is appropriate or it will be too big for me. Thank you so much
