Anyone with an Insurgent V2 and onwards had issues with the headset bearings fitting very tight in the frame? Mine fit so tight they need to be tapped out if I ever want to clean the cups and re-grease them.
same on mine, offering v2 but i've got a works components headset

Gotcha, yeah same here, got the 1 degree angleset. Have you found a good way to remove and install the bearings without damage to them? I tapped them out as gently as I could and still made a bit of an indentation on the rubber screen over the bearings.

I also just installed a 1.5 degree Angleset on my following and also found that the headset bearings were very hard to press into the cups.

Be very kind, big flat screwdriver and tap everywhere gently, first time I broke it it was unrepairable, although it was long gone so it’s not a problem it needed to be replaced anyway I might give the stainless steel ones ago if I find some next time
Hello everyone, I wanted to ask you. I'm looking to buy a 2015 evil insurgent in perfect condition, I'm 5.7 feet. The use that I am going to give it is enduro and bike parks. Do you think a size M is appropriate or it will be too big for me. Thank you so much
I say go for a Large if you can find one, a 2015 Medium is smaller than the new small. I am your size and rode a Medium and a Large and preferred the Large.

Medium would probably work, 433 reach, 425mm Seat tube, I'm 5'11 short legs, long torso, my M Insurgent was a bit small. Check the Buy/Sell
Got a 2022 insurgent mx, i weigh 190 kitted up. Anyone similar and what are you running for rear coil? The stock rock shocks coil was way too lite so i went to an MRP progressive 450 spring, trouble is the compression damping seems really lite on rock shocks.

Are you sure? Reason I ask is that I'm looking at V1 Offerings for my son and the opposite is true. Earlier models were substantially larger than the current ones. I even called Evil to inquire and they said that yes, a current large would equate to a previous version medium.
Granted, this is for the Offering, not the Insurgent.
Best thing to do is get on https://geometrygeeks.bike/ They give you direct head-to-head geometry comparisons

Just wondering why you went with an MRP progressive spring? The Insurgent runs a linear/normal spring just fine. I’d say try the stock RS spring with a bit more preload. I know preloading springs sometimes changes the damping and maybe the progressive one changes it too much.
I tried a 450 regular and was smashing right through it. Not nearly as progressive as the YT capra i also have but the MRP 450 progressive makes it feel totally bottomless for me.
Its interesting Evil claims the fual progression rate which i kinda notice at the beginning but with a linear spring feels too mushy. Im afarid a 500 linear would def chop out a lot of small bump suppleness in tech

One quick look on geometrygeeks and the new offering is longer in every dimension than the old one, reach, wheelbase and top tube length. So I don't know where that incorrect information is coming from.

Longer, yes, but look at the height comparisons. The old one is taller in every dimension. And by a lot. Seat tube C:T = 45mm longer Standover = 25mm higher If standover and seat tube height are issues, the old model will feel big. If torso length is an issue, the new one will feel big.
It even shows the recommended rider height as being 2" taller than the new one.
When I called Evil about this, the guy said he was 6'3" and the older XL was too big for him. The current XL fits.

we'll start off with standover height, it's a fairly useless measurement on a mountain bike, unless you plan to sit down on the top tube. Evil's have some of the lowest standover height of many bikes due to their frame design so this is a mute point The 2 inch drop in seat tube length wasn't done because it was necessary for shorter riders, it was done to accommodate a longer dropper post.
I'd rather run a slightly smaller dropper post than have a short reach bike.
