Very nice mate I have a 1992/3 gt rts-1 (the original one with the black chrome rear swingarm)
It's got mag 21 sl titanium forks control tech post/stem/bars in black and xtr groupset apart from the cranks which are cook bros in black.

Love the zaskar though a propper mans bike!

Man that looks just as good now as when it was originally released. That fork is sweet too. Very envious. Keep the updates coming!

Looks great, you should be proud. Have you done anything to seal the aluminum to prevent oxidation or does it require periodic polishing?

Cheers for the comments tup its really an excellent bike to ride. i weighed it the other day and its bang on 22ibs (which im pretty happy with)

the frame is bare aluminium, has been since 1993 when the bike was new. the finish stays shiny as long as you dont get fingerprints all over it, after a ride in the rain it usually goes a bit duller but otherwise i'll only polish it once a month

Ive changed the handlebars from the titanium X-lite flats to an Easton riser bar, and the difference a bit of rise and backsweep makes to the handling of the bike is massive, pics soon

couple pics from the trail this weekend... First proper outing in the mud, and the bike was great Big Grin

i felt like the old manitou's let the bike down a bit though, They do perform quite well in all fairness but after all they're light for a reason right? They are quite flexy and dont feel half as solid as a pair of bombers, but then early 90s suspension is shit in today's standards anyway i suppose Wink

Looks great. Couldn't afford a Zaskar at the time, had to settle for a timerberline. I still have the onza bar ends though.

Thanks for posting these pics. My first 'proper' mountain bike was a fully rigid GT Outpost from that era, Zaskar was a dream bike back then. Great work with the build and good to see your enjoying riding it too Big Grin
