I'm not a big fan of these dashed hike trails especially when seeing a whole region like (Scolty - Scotland) just looks messy and very hard to navigate with. When first seeing alone thought I thought they were like old/decommissioned trails or something along those lines. I am more wondering what controls the trails to be a dashed or not (Hike or Normal)?

We should chat, there is a better way to present them so it looks 'normal'.

I'll PM you.

Hi, could a category be added under bike type for e-bike or is there some other way for me to differentiate on the ride log or leaderboard when i ride an AM acoustic vs AM e-bike. I have used Uni for e-bike so I can see which bike was used without having to open each ride individually. Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

Thanks heaps, opens options for me. Weirdly I hadn't ever dropped the activity drop down to see what it had.

Not sure where to post but I donated $15.00 last night to a local trail so that I could also download a map for my Garmin. The payment has gone through and I got no points and cannot download. what happened to the deal ?

On the Facebook Groups page, its mentions Twitter as a mechanism to automatically do status reporting. Is twitter an option? Also, I have several trails that post to Facebook Pages instead of groups.

Hampton Hills:

East Rim

And then I have the hard one, Two trails on one twitter.

Hi
I'm pretty new to Trailfoks but love it already so much, thanks for the work!

I have some newbie questions i was not able to find an answer for:
- how long does it on average take for a new trail to show up on the routing map?
i entered some trails in my area and would now like to create routes, but the new trails are not on the route planning map
example: https://www.trailforks.com/trails/mark-s-trail-173401/

- when to enter an access road as track?
while trying to create a new route i found out that, gravel roads in my area are awailable for routing even if they are not entered as acces road/trail. is there a best practice when to submit an an access trail and when not?

- when adding a trail -> draw trail on map, the map is always centered at vancouver
is there a way to chance this or to jump to my location?
btw. when adding a route -> create route on map, the map is centered nearby where i am

The routing updating varies a lot, but the region you added a trail took 22 sec. Plus 0-5 min as the update job only runs every 5 minutes.

Best to add access roads when they are used a lot by mountain bikers to navigate a network. Or if its valuable to use any of the other features like reports, photos and such on the road. Also it makes it more visible on the mobile app if on doesn't have data and the background basemap isn't loaded.

If you first goto the region your adding content, then add the trail from there, then it will be centered there and auto-populate some of the location fields.

Many thanks for your answer.

I have still some problems with adding a route
a)
added the following trail 8 hours ago:
https://www.trailforks.com/trails/access-unterseen-to-harder/

while the trail is shown on the map imediately, 8 hours later, when i try to add a route, the trail still does not show up on the "add a route" map

b)
when i select add/edit at the top right position while the correct region is selected, the map is centered much closer but still way off the center of the region. or did i a add the region wrong?

[P=https://cloud.aironaut.ch/index.php/apps/gallery/s/759fbd53dd5adfdcc15055329abf6dbf#trailforks/Bild%2011.png][/P]

after clicking add route
[P=https://cloud.aironaut.ch/index.php/apps/gallery/s/759fbd53dd5adfdcc15055329abf6dbf#trailforks/Bild%2012.png][/P]

offset is about 50km

The trail should be visible now. But as was already mentioned it sometime takes a bit of time for regional routing to update, there are a lot of regions to update..

I can not see your screenshots but I assume you are talking about the region Harding? Looks like you added a area box (polygon) to define the region, but the actual regional marker was not within the box. You have to make sure the square regional box/pin is somewhere within the polygon, if it is not the system gets confused and the map will not be focus on the right area.

I have corrected this, but if you look at the add/edit page you will now see the marker with the polygon box.
