P3 will be a lot lighter than the p2. P3 has a better spec aswell

I would go for the 2009 one (yellow.)

P3 is lighter. It's aluminum!

What do you think would be the weight of them? Are they fairly light?

Neither one of them is going to be seriously light as they are both close to stock builds, but of the two, the P3 will be lighter. Guessing about 30-32lbs for the P3?

P3 is the obvious choice. And 30-32lbs is a bit high; I'd personally say 26~30lbs.

The p3 is a very high quality frame. I have fairly extensive experience on both and can say without a doubt that the p3 is going to be a lot better, especially considering that the p3 is only a little bit more expensive. I'm not going to double check myself, but I'm 99% sure the stock p2 was about 900 bucks whereas the p3 was 1650.

Also the p3 has a better dropout system.

Also the p2 is 36 pounds stock, with either a 7 or 8 lb hardtail frame... seriously that's absurd.

Also they both have the same geo, and the geo is not designed for street. You might as well have an aluminum bike if it isn't made specifically for street. There are some die-hard steel-only hardtail users, but then again, they'd have a high end steel hardtail, which the p2 is not, in comparison to the lightweight p3. The weight is still competitive today... 4.75lb for the frame, and the geo is still very similar to the current p3 (having also ridden that).
