I currently ride a Sugar 2+ having been passed down many a dope piece of componentry as well as the stock complete bike after my fully custom scout fell prey to a thief. She’s pretty dope and rips with all the newest slackest bikes out thereSmile

This was my first mountain bike, I picked it up for $600 in August 2019. In January I got a StumpJumper but kept the HiFi around and have slowly been upgrading it. I ride it from time to time, the higher bottom bracket let me put 175mm cranks on, and it gets through most rock gardens with ease.

Upgrades/Repairs:

-Converted to a SRAM 1x11 NX drivetrain (GX crank)
-Sent the rear shock off to Fox for a rebuild
-Installed dropper post
-Installed 780mm bars
-Re-laced entire rear wheel with new spokes because the old ones were popping left and right

Future Upgrades/repairs:
-Moving the SLX brakes from my Stumpy to this bike
-New headset bearings
-looking for a better externally routed dropper post.

Still riding my 05’ Cake 2 DLX. Trying to locate a new bike for next year though as I get more into the hobby and ask more of the bike.

I have an old steel Gary Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo hard tail. bought it ~30 years ago. Rattle canned it way back then, wish I hadn't. It's my beater bike. I ride it into town on quick shopping trips. 8 speed grip shifts.

I did!...and for a while, it was good. Up where I'm at it's all technical, and you almost always have a thorough slog just to get to the fun stuff. In those ways my Sugar 4+ was an excellent weapon

In the gnarliest root/ rock gardens when others may have wished for larger wheels, she never lost momentum. As long as I sat in the saddle she climbed like a mountain goat. Suprisingly light on her feet and sure footed when things got fast.

Finally this September I got bit by the famed chainstay crack. I'll try get a local shop to weld a bead over it an maybe keep it as a backup bike...unfortunately it might be until next summer when I have time to do that as I'm using some of her parts to build up a modern hardtail.

Vintage Race Face bars with Wolftooth fatpaw grips- I love these thing they really helped with hand fatigue. Origin 8 headset...
...the XTR shifter may have been my favorite component on the bike.

Deore 175mm cranks, thouroughly beat up from rock strikes Raceface 32t chainring, E13 pedals

I'm a CST tire advocate now. Maybe not the best puncture protection but roughly the same compound as their Maxxis corporate sibling.
