Cracked YT Capra

I'm worried. I have had my YT Capra for 2 weeks and it is pretty amazing (fast, and relatively light). I am getting ready for my usual Alps and Italy trip and suddenly found out that a friend at work who has his Capra for 3 weeks has cracked the carbon seat stay at the mech hanger.

Any one else who has one, look at the hanger mount to frame, especially the sharp corner edge and look out for cracks, (I've got a photo of the damage, but can't work out how to put it one here!)

Definitely interested in YT's response on this. If you'll have a chance - please upload a photo somewhere and post a link here... What's your opinion on repairing such crack by a carbon specialist?. I know there's waranty but after..?
And please let us know how this ended..

There is no chance of repair. It's a replace job. I'll let you know how it ends... It's either seen as warranty or a crash replacement?

F@*k....... on my 7th ride after 3 weeks, mine has developed EXACTLY the same failure at the mech hanger to seat stay joint. I have also had a message from another Pinkbike member saying that he has had exactly the same failure, with no impact to the bike.

So that's three I know of, and two out of two Capras that I have seen with my own eyes that have cracked in the same place. In my opinion this is a trend indicating a fault in the design.

I've emailed YT and will try and speak with the Chief Engineer today to find out what he has to say...

Interesting, how long ago did you buy them? Not that it really makes a difference.

I'm the worst guy in the world for worrying about cracks, not good!!!

Apparently some of the Capras being sent have a new and revised dropout

You would be wise to get a word with YT if yours hasn't got these (or just wait until it fails)

It appears it is the hanger that just carves through the carbon
