Most guys run closer to 30% sag, and the 27.5 seems to require lower PSI than the 29.

30% seems a bit much but you are correct on the higher PSI for 29 because of the roll over capability of larger wheels.

I run 35% on my 29 with a coil. Feels spot on for me

Don’t you get a lot of pedal strikes? I ran 34% on my 27.5/X2 and it was good for lift assist riding but awful for climbing/slower speed riding.

I run mine at 25 and it feels fine..Going 30% and I got a lot of pedal strikes. Need to be mindful on where your lines are.

Anyone tried to upgrade their 170mm rear CF Pro 2018/19 suspension into 180mm like the Pro Race is? I wanted to upgrade but YT told that the CF pro isnt compatible to 180.

Are you running a 29er? If you have the 27.5 model you can definitely do 180mm but not the 29er. Not sure why they told you that. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Just ordered a 180 air shaft for my 170 2019 al comp. Install that and take out a spacer on my x2 and hey presto a full 180 travel bike. Costs 50 for the shaft which I'll sell on at 30 which is barely used.

Im running a 27.5 as well. Dont know but thats what YT told me about running 180. Tell us about how it goes with the travel upgrade mate. 250×75 I believe.

I imagine it will make minimal difference. BB increased for climbing but lowered back when using full travel.
Had the 29er 2018 AL comp and no issues with the BB or a single pedal strike over a year and a month in Morzine black runs.
Could count the pedal strikes in my life on one hand up until now.
This year, I have only really ridden the new one to work etc over a month and have had say nearly 10 strikes.
Also installing a 5mm reach headset (in reduce mode) tomorrow. Calculated a -1 HA and about +7mm in the BB height. Bought some nice thin spank pedals to match all my other gear and to get more clearance too
Saying that about the BB height, I was running the top end thin CB stamp pedals up until the new bike l;ast month and have sufficed with some placcy horizon comps which are thicker..

Got some pics on where that spacer is located? Is it further in than the air chamber where the tokens are? I have serviced my own shocks in the past but havent dared taking apart the float x2 yet and the furthest i have gone is adjusting the tokens.

As for the fox 36, I called fox asking whether my fork had the "long travel" stanchion for 180mm air shaft compatibility and they gave the go saying all it needs is an air shaft.

No idea. My mechanic thought he could do it but when he opened it up today couldn't figure it out or find any info online. Silver fish confirmed it can be done. Can anyone else help? Going back tomorrow so it will save me expensive morzine mechanic fees if I can get it done tomorrow. 180 shaft installed at least.

Anyone running the new FOX DHX2 FACTORY 2020 spring on a 2018 AL Capra? Wondering if it clears the frame. Also curious the size you ordered.

I'm not an expert, but I think YT usually puts out new bikes at the beginning of the year, rather than 6 months before the new year like other brands.
