Video upload with Safari doesn't work

I wanted to upload a video mp4-file (h264, 856 x 480, 16:9). On my desktop this video works perfect but uploading doesn't work. My browser crashes after 30 seconds (Apple Safari 7.0.6; OS 10.9.4) It also doesn't work with other browsers but uploading to facebook is no problem
