I've had my trail bike with full XT for about a year now, and everything's always worked very well on it until recently. Within the past few weeks, though, the right trigger shifter (for the rear derailleur) sits loose in its housing with both lateral and vertical movement. This doesn't impede the shifting ability yet, but I'm worried that it could eventually get that far. Has anyone had experience with fixing this problem? I've pulled the assembly apart, but don't see any obvious signs of damage or wear indicating the problem. Thank you in advance for your advice.

does it bolt on to your brake lever or is it mounted straight to the bar?

sounds to me like something has worked its way loose and the surfaces may have worn. you should take some pics or take it to a lbs Smile
