Threw a coil on my OG! Digging it so far, have almost 5k' of rowdy descending logged.

400 lb spring, didn't check sag until recently, had 30% sag with 1.5 turns of preload. gonna back the collar off to minimum preload and add some comp damping. I weigh 175# and not sure if 375 or 400 is right for me.

Transition Patrol 2018, Fox DPX2 (stock specced).
my weight ~75-78kg (ready to ride)
i set SAG according to manual, i don't remember pressure now, about 175-180psi i guess.

I can't use all the travel, always there is like 3-4mm not used (even in bikeparks with bigger hucks to flat.
Is it normal? are there any volume spacers inside ?

450lb spring for me - slightly heavier than you.

I have this exact issue, there is 1 volume spacer 0.6mm if I recall

Ive been meaning to air down my shock to see if the shock bottoms out at 3-4mm or has full travel

Im around the same weight as you, and same pressure..do you recall what your rebound is set at? I think mine is 5-7 out from open

I had the same issue with my Sentinel so I have removed the 0.6 spacer and put some more air in the DPX2 and I like it much more now.

Same here, sounds like all bikes come stock with the 0.6in spacer. I swapped it for the smallest 0.2in spacer

Has anybody gone with 27.5+ on their Sentinal? Would the BB be wayyy to low?

I feel like I'm overbiked on most of my local trails I was wondering if some 27.5x2.6 tires help tame the bike down a little.

I don't think 27.5x2.6 would tame any bike down, you'd be better served putting some faster, lighter tires on your bike if you're trying to "tame it down" IMO

I figured going from a 29er wheelset to 27.5 would make the bike feel a little more agile and less monster trucky?

Did you put that on a 2018 or 2019 patrol? I was wondering if a super deluxe would fit on a 2019 patrol given they dont spec it any more and wanted to run a lyric in the front but again only the yari is speced so I dont know if the lyric comes with the transition desired offset.

Maybe if it had standard sized tires, But i would not expect any 2.6 tires to not feel monster trucky. Would probably be too low either way. Get a Scout? Or just get some faster, lighter 29er tires on your bike.

it works on the 2019 as well, because they did not change anything.

The 2018/2019 patrols uses a 205x65 trunion mounted shock not the 230x65 found on the 2017 model. For a while worldwide cyclery was stocking the appropriate sized super deluxe coils for 2018+ patrols but I can’t seem to find them anymore. As for the lyric Transition sells them direct from their website https://www.transitionbikes.com/Store_Detail.cfm?C=Forks&SC=Patrol%20Forks&P=12509 the other option is to upgrade the internals of your Yari as it uses the same chassis as the lyric, that route may be cheaper.
