great thanks both. Will try the 2nd option, rather than taping, will likely use of these: https://www.bikeinn.com/bike/rockshox-stealth-barb-connector-reverb/136091602/p?utm_source=google_products&utm_medium=merchant&id_producte=3255726&country=uk&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-9yph5XR3wIVjBDTCh0GPgLgEAQYAiABEgI8_fD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

That looks like it would work perfectly

Hey! Sorry, this question has probonly been asked before, but I’m on mobile and can’t search the forum.

I have a 2018 Slash 9.8, which came with a 230x57.5 through shaft shock. I’m swapping to a 230x57.5 Fox X2. Could any one point me in the direction of the mounting kit for the Fox? As it’s a regular eyelet shock I am assuming it will all be different to the reunion mounted through shaft shock.

I am also considering experimenting with offset bushings for a lower/slacker feel, and removing the 2.5mm stroke spacer from the X2 for a bit more travel (150mm up to 156mm if my math is right...). Does anyone have experience with ether of these mods?

Hey guys. I've got a slash and am changing the rear brake. How easy is it to route cables through the frame internally? Anyone done it? Assume have to cut the zip ties on the bottom of the downturn but should be able to thread through from there right?

love my slash but control freak is a nightmare, upgraded the dropper post to a crank bros highline and just kept the housing, you can tell us how you managed to mount your brakes, I´m also looking to upgrade my guides some hope or magura brakes

upgraded tires to maxxis 2,5wt, dropper post to crank bros highline 160mm, deity grips, and oneup EDC

Ive got a 2015 slash. I have the opportunity to throw a 2018 lyric rc2 160mm for $250 on it. The offset on the current pike is 43mm and the offset on the lyric is 52mm. Does this frame have a recommended offset? What will it feel like? This recomeneded?

Thanks!

Just checked , the lyric is 46mm. I think thats good. Higher offset makes for more senstive/quicker stearing right? The bike is already a bit twichier then i would like.

In answer to my earlier comment, incase anyone else is interested I had a look and the dimensions for the 2018 Slash 9.8 for a Fox X2/trunnion mounted Delux are:

Shock 230mm x 57.5mm (but 60mm stroke is do-able).
Upper Shock End Width: 60mm
Upper Shock Hardware: M10 x 1 x 16mm for Trunnion, 10mm OD Upper and lower shock hardware for Fox X2 (Trek part number 540755). Bushings sized for Fox eyelets.
Lower Shock End Width: 50mm, off-set 10mm to the Non-Drive Side.
Lower Shock Hardware: M10 x 1 x 18mm for Trunnion, 10mm OD Upper and lower shock hardware for Fox X2 (Trek part number 540755). Bushings sized for Fox eyelets.

Cheers!

From what I know, a longer offset will make for slower steering feel but better at high speeds

Yup. the 52 off set will be a bit more stable at higher speeds with a longer wheels base of a few mm ~4mm I know people that run 52 and 46 offsets. I see more 46 in person with Frame build ups; but so far I'm very happy with my 52. I ride a lot of tight singletrack and it feels good, also I run the mino link high.
