Fewer than a half dozen short rides and my new Novatec rear hubs bearings are apparently shot. Turning the axle they feel rough, when I install the wheel in the drop outs and tighten it up the wheel barely turns. Anybody else have any issues with these? Is it a simple matter of replacing the bearings or might the hub be shot?

Novatec have many class for their hub.
if your hub series start with number 8, then you got the good class. The lower the first number, then the class is lower.

I had use Novatec with number 4 in the first digit, and yes its only stand for less than 4 month usage. Change the bearing with a better one and it last much longer (about a season or so). I sold the hub because I change the wheelset.

Took it to a master tech. He pointed out the brake side dust cover was dragging on the hub face. I put 2.5mm thick washer inside the dust cover and screwed it back on to the axle. Has about .003-.005" clearance to the hub now. Rode it pretty hard slamming it off some big booters with no issues.
