My budget is $3000 max. Looking for best bang for the buck on a 27.5" All mountain/Enduro bike. Would love something like a 153 Process or Bronson but too much $ new (could look for a good deal on a used one). Any suggestions on other models more in my budget? Or is a used bike the way to go? Or is it a big risk not worth taking?

Kona precept range are cheap and supposedly the same geo as the process. Got good reviews over here.
If you can fully service your own bike and know what to look out for then second hand is worth it.
But if your new to riding and don't have a garage full of the right tools then go new bike route.

I've been shopping and can get a 2015 Giant Trance 1 for $3140. Has carbon wheels! or I can get a Trance SX for about a $100 more... (no carbon wheels). Thoughts?

Depends where you are, in Canada the Reign 2 is sub-$3k

ubnaka - Trance 1 and SX, CDN website now showing $3600 and $3700. Are you getting an LBS deal for them?
The SX has better drivetrain, beefier fork and shock, but the 1 will be lighter. I'm trying to decide between the SX and Adv 1, since they both have 1x11.

Yes, the Advanced is super nice but $1500 more!!

Reign is cheap but more of a entry DH bike from what I gather...

For me it's gonna be either the Trance 1 or Trance SX. Leaning more towards the 1 with the Carbon wheels!

What are you planning on using the bike for?

I'll ride mostly all mountain... climbs and descents... small drops and jumps. Some tight single track and roots and rock sections.

I would lean towards the trance sx due to the fact it offers more room for progression and will be better if you decide you want to do some days in the park
