Wow guys. Both have valid points but why wouldn't you just use the limit screws? The only reason I can see is if the cogs are closer to the spokes where the limit screw won't reach. Otherwise I see no reason to over complicate it and rely on a cable?

Where's that last picture? Pinkbike is pretty shit with how embedding pictures is. Surely they could make it easier.

My point exactly. Limit screws are way easier.

I've had better luck with a length of cable over limit screws. Throw in a barrel adjuster and you can switch between a couple of cogs without tools. Posted my old setup a page or so back.

It’s standard straight gauge 4130 chromoly...aircraft grade and made in the US.

I don't think it would be better than a dh Rohloff tensionner which is made for hard dh riding. Paul also have a little toe like the shimano alfine and this part can brake, while the rohloff only uses friction to keep it in place.
