What gear ratio are you guys running? I have a 9t driver and 25t sprocket, but was wondering if I should put a 24t to help with doing a fakie out, but maybe it's just my lack of technique. . .

Basically, when you run the "gear inches" formula, 25 / 9 X 22 = 61.1 gear inches. So, it's in between 27/9 and 28/9 with 20" wheels. 28/9 X 20" = 62.2
25 / 9 X 20" = 55.5, so that's the "stock" gearing for most of bmx.
24 / 9 X 22" = 58.6, so it's still a little stouter than that.
i have a 22" . its actually a 24" sunday wave c frame with the dropouts filed in for the 22" wheels. also a 22" s&M fork. i really do like riding 22's. just a tad bit harder to fit in my jetta wagon haha. 27/10 gear ratio.

Cool. There are a few guys on bmxmuseum who did the same thing with a Sunday Wave C. Are you running rear brakes? (One guy made custom brake arms that would reach.....)

Yes I'm running rear brakes, when I got the bike the pads were angled to get to the rim. I took the slots for the pads and slotted them more, almost all the way out. It's not a bad frame. But I'm planning on getting a different frame. One that's supposed to be a 22. Rear is a tad long for my preference

Here's the guy who did what you did....although that's interesting you can slot the dropouts up far enough to get the brakes to work. You should post pics here or in bmxmuseum!

The dude from Melton cycles is the guy who built this bike. I stumbled across it on eBay. They built is for someone and I guess he didn't like it. (That's the dude who built the one on that bmx muesem post)
Check this out..... If you race your 22", if your tires are under 22.5" inflated diameter, you can race in the 20" class (and in USABMX rules you can ALSO race in cruiser). But, if they're over 22.5", then you can only race cruiser class.
Kinda strange.

CMC mentioned the 22" option and I'm waiting for mine. I have wheels and a fork in the mail and my frame is in the jig right now. I hope to have it ready for spring!! I have been riding a 24" for years and they are much more relaxed than a 20 but some of them with more updated geometry are pretty decent.

Sweet. Have you decided on the geo or is It TBD/secret ?! ; )

I'm wanting a trails bike SURPRISE!!!
I'm thinking
74° HA
71° seat tube angle (somewhere between Faction and SnM) who really cares anyhow, it may move the seat 3/4"...
11 3/4 BB height.
14" chain stays, maybe 13.75 slammed IF I can make that work and 14.5" to the back of the drop outs.
I like a low stand over but I got a butted seat tube from Solid Bikes so it limits what I can do. I think it's a 9" tube (if memory serves) so maybe an 8.5" stand over. I'd like to trim it to fit and use a wedge post because I like that clean look. Still, I have a nice green Shadow clamp I'd like to use..... Oh the important things.
Not sure about the weight... I'm using straight tubing 0.049 (so a little heavier than 0.035) for the DT and 0.035 for the TT but I'm using much lighter parts (head tube and BB shell) than my Cruiser frame. The cruiser came in at 6lbs even so I figure I should be able to save 1lb without too much trouble. The cruiser I built tough as nails for no reason other than it was mostly stuff I had lying around and the chain stay to BB shell needed to be so tight I had to make a part that should have been lighter but I was in a hurry and just got it done. Really on that bike it's the rims and tires that make the bike heavy, I could put it on a diet but I really don't care. If the 22 comes in 25-26lbs I'll be happy.
RAD!
So, what are you thinking as far as bottom bracket drop/rise as compared to 20" and 24" bmx? 11.75" would be around +0.56" rise above axle level, if you're going off of S&M Mainline 22 X 2.1" tires. (The fatter tires are taller obviously).
The bent DK fork has been replaced with a SnM Pitchfork.
I really like the cruiser but the HA on it is a wee bit slack. That being said after years on Sus bikes, my old Norco 125 had a 69° head angle, then the Wallace a 72°, and my Lowballer a 73°, I'm afraid the 74 may be a bit scary with losing the rotational mass of the 24" wheels.
My kids have gotten the bug (awesome) my daughter wants to be a BMX Champion and want's to learn to jump next year. My son just likes to ride bikes. I figure they really liked the one time I got them to the track I figured I may as well aim this bike towards a race bike. That being said, I really don't see much difference between trails frames and race frames other than durability (weight) so I figured I'd keep it (maybe a bit old school now?) low, low BB low bars. Not that 11 3/4 is that low, the Lowballer is more along 11.5 but a little pedal clearance may be a good thing.
What did you think of the Faction Zeitgeist?
One thing I did not realize is how long the Zeitgeist's stays are, any idea of the Amero's stay length?
Seems most guys were not too impressed and wanted the higher BB stance and their newer Amero is higher (still not with the SnM) and I think they steepened the HA as well. I have been thinking about this frame for quite a while and after finally finding out some specs on the Zeitgeist I thought THAT'S MY PLAN! guess I was late on that one.
Seems like it would be a real nice trails frame to me.
It was very comfortable to crank around, roll around the skatepark and take a mellow cruise around the pump track. The parts build was pretty heavy/chunky, but just talking about the geo.... I and everyone else who rode it or saw it thought the back end was too long. I think it actually could have been okay to keep the 11.75"bb height, if the cs had been shortened to 14.25"-14.75" (in other words, I don't think it needed a super short back end for trails). The 21.5"tt I also measured at more like 21.25.
