for now it has a boxxer because it's the fork I had on my old bike but you guys convinced me to buy a single crown, It's literally the best bike I've had, I liked my session park, but the banshee is even better.. even if the cane creek is really hard to set!

Just picked this up not too long ago. I've been scoping this forum to see how good of an all around bike and I'm loving it.

I'd say the Rune is a better all round bike than a Darkside.

Does a Rune accept dual crowns for bike park days?

Sure but not advisable as its a all mtb enduro 160mm bike. Maybe 180mm dual crowns

Rune takes 180mm so if you lower them, yes. If park is all you ride then a Darkside is much better.

Don't do it. Rune's sweet spot is 160 front. Maby 170mm for racing. With 180mm front, rear feels f'cked up IMHO

I disagree. 180mm on a Rune is great. Bit like 200mm on a Darkside and 160mm on a Spitfire.

We'll agree to disagree.
As for DC fork, bike will prolly be fine if lowered. Warranty is POS anyways so voiding it is irrelevant.

I have my Darkside set up as a "do it all" trail bike with a single crown 180mm (as it is my only bike ). I always have it set up in the middle chip position. I have found that in the higher ( steep head tube angle ) position , it climbs worse than in the slacker middle position. I find that in the steeper head tube angle high position the rear tire hangs up on roots and rocks like it is pulling me backwards instead of rolling through. Anyone else have this? I wonder if it comes down to shock settings that may need to be set up softer as the head tube angle is steepened??

Hey guys, reviving this thread for a moment, do any of you point your Darkside’s uphill? I want to get down to a single bike quiver, but I mostly ride park. I see some 30-35lb DS builds which seem optimal for an all-a rounder while still having 180 travel! Anything helps!
