Is it possible to put a tapered fork on my 2007 Norco team dh . It has a 1 1/8 head tube . Would something like a cane creek 40 series 44 headset work

It only works if your head tube is at least 44mm. It's probably not, but there were a few bikes produced in the 1 1/8" headtube-era that had 44mm headtubes. If your bike is one of them, you can fit a tapered steerer fork using a special external-cup adapter headset. It will substantially increase your stack height though.
