Hi,

anyone knows what is the fattest tire one can fit on Cannonade Jekyll 27.5 (2015)?
2,5" 2,7" or more

What rims would go best with them? (would WTB i23 work or i25 or even some 30mm rim is needed)

It came stock with Schwalbe Hans Dampf 2.35 and Nobby Nic (i think it's 2.25) front & rear.

Thank's for advice.

I'm going to try 2.5s, I don't think anything bigger than that will fit. My boss has 3.0s on his Trigger 29er, but that's a 29er.

Which tiers on which rims - what is the width of the rims?
Let us know how it works out for you!

Thanks!

I've got my eyes on the Vittoria Morsa, and I have a set of Roval wheels with 29mm-wide rims. It'll be super beefy, if it clears the frame. That's the one thing I can't seem to find any info on.

Just got word back from Cannondale this morning. 2.5" is the widest they've tested on the Jekyll and they confirmed that it will fit.

I know a couple people who have put the WTB 2.8s on the Jekyll no problem. They can also fit a 29er wheel with a low profile tread in the rear.

What about 26" rims with 3.0 tires?

Width might be a bigger concern than diameter, based on what I remember from looking at the frame. But might be worth a shot

Confirmed that Butcher 2.5s fit on 29mm Roval rims.

Thanks for asking OP ...I'm in the market for the same thing, and literally was going to ask on here too! I have the same bike... but need wheel recommendations too (places to buy, good deals, custom build sites??) the lefty hub seems to be the the main issue. Should I just lace up the OEM in an aftermarket wheel?

I'd like wide (what's the widest that would allow 2.5 tires to work best, engaging shoulder tread etc?), alloy, strong enough for enduro to DH riding and is true tubeless w/o tape, and will allow lower pressure. Currently looking at industry nine, enve and DT Swiss but all are rather pricey.

Any recommendations or tips from your research would much appreciated!

My tire selection / search hasn't given me any joy...love mountain kings but jeez they are tough to push up hill!

P.s. The cross rocs and maxxis that come OEM are poo...the only issue I have with the bike.

Does anyone think a chupacabra 2.8 would fit?

Or 2.8 Nobby Nics on the rear end?

considering a 2015 jekyll carbon 2 any thoughts? or input from someone who owns one? the only component im concered with are the crossroc wheels, all the info i can find on them say xc use only no jumps or drops especially for a 200lb rider(my weight)they are also pretty narrow 19mm internal. since i live in kansas looking to use it for urban freeride with the occasional trip to out of state bike parks maybe some xc mixed in there

thanksSmile

I would not recommend anything larger than a 2.5 on the stock rim set. But with some wider rims a 3.0 easily fits in the front and 2.8 WTB or Nobby Nic in the back. The tires are mounted on a set of roval sl fatties since I think rim width will have an effect on clearance as you get up towards the limits of the jekyll.
