Looking for a custom wheel build using hope hubs, but i dont know what to go with for rims. Ive heard e13s are pretty good. Any recommendations??? Doing Lots of park and some dh racing on v10

Industry 9 and spank are pretty good.

They dont have the 729 in 650b. Do they sell the industry 9 grades in a just rim option?? And how good are the spank spike rims? Ive seen a few guys use them, but are they good enough for tech dh racing as well as big park stuff?

I would really avoid e13 wheels, even now. They are still sub-par compared to Spank/ZTR for example.

I would go for either the Race28 Evo if you're rather light, smooth and don't run too low pressures, or the Spike35 Evo for width and strength.

Pitty I still haven't found the perfect DH rim in my opinion ... 28-30mm outside width, at 550-570gr... either it's wider, or just too heavy/too light ... Smile

I read that the spank 35 was really soft, even though it was strong. People said they were getting dents and everything. I'm pretty light, but I run low tire pressures like 15 psi, so will the spank still be ok? Are the dt 570s any good?

Why not try carbon rims from Derby, or Nobl Or LB or Nextie?

Lol I've never even heard of those. I'll check them out. I just don't want something super expensive

Guys I need something where I can get just the rim alone, so sadly no mavic deemax. Anything on azonic outlaws. Do they have industry 9 grades in rim only anywhere?

I saw the derby dhs, they look super nice, but they are 400 a rim, and they have limited compatibility because they're so wide Frown

Also guys whats better: spank spike evo 28, spank spike evo 35, or dt swiss fr570. Sorry for all the spaced out questions, they keep coming to mind as I go about my day lol.

Spank have just released the spoon32 27.5, they're a solid as, well priced rim

Should be available in the very near future

You should also consider the velocity/pacenti blunt 35s, which are available in 27.5 too and available now if you're in a hurry to build something

The Blunt35 are not as strong as the Spike35 (I've got both Smile ). Good AM/enduro rim but I wouldn't ride anything harder than that. I tried it on my DH, and had to change the rim after a few months...

I have both as well, haven't had issues with either

I have blunt 35s on 440s as my mud wheels and subrosas on pro 2s as my shuttles set, spikes are on my trail bike which cops a thrashing when I want to "earn my turns" on the DH tracks

Nah I'm not in a hurry to get them made, I just wanted to know so that I can plan out my build. So from what I hear the spank spikes are good? Do I get the 35s or the 28s? As long as it's 32h I'm ok. I'm just concerned about the strength. I'm gonna be doing really rough riding, so I want something that will hold up. What's this bs with people saying that the rims are soft and they dent??
