I sold my Epic.

Nice bike but, at 49, it's harder on my body, these days.

I'm thinking about a "trace"(part trail/part race) bike.

Something i can ride for longer periods of time because it's simply more comfortable.

A bike that's still going to allow be to thrash corners and vie for a few KOMs on twisty SoCal descents.

I do most of my riding in SoCal and in nearby western states(AZ/CO/UT).

But also a bike I could race occasionally. "Occasionally" bordering on rarely.

Mach 429 or a Camber?

Gimme top 3 reasons why you pick it?

I was debating these two bikes as well for the same reasons. What did you end up going with?

As a Mach 429c owner, I recommend 1. DW link great for climbing, but still provides a little cushion going uphill

2. Head tube angle slightly relaxed for balanced up/downhill performance. If you climb steep hills this helps a lot. I hate fighting slack geometry on a steep climb!

3. Acceptably light weight. This carbon frame isn't as light as the newer SL model, but I was able to build a large size to just over 25lb(Roval Traverse SL wheelset helped here!)

Good Luck!
