Hi folks, we're bringing the boys out to Canada and the US between July and August 2016. We're going to arrive in British Columbia and head east, doing plenty of riding along the way. The aim is to finish the trip around the UCI Downhill World Cup at Mont Sainte Anne in August.

We've done plenty of research on trails we can fit into our route (which is super flexible) but thought we'd get a local perspective too. If you've got any suggestions for trails the boys could do (they're 6 and 7 and ride orange downhill routes) in any of the following locations, could you give us a head's up? We'd also love to know about great MB shops/cafes etc you think would be worth visiting.

Cheers in advance!

British Columbia
Alberta
Manitoba
Montana
North Dakota
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Michigan
Ontario
Quebec

Where are you coming from? Orange seems a strange grading to me as I'm used to thinking of DH in the same style as ski resorts so Green, Blue, Black, Double back if in North America or Green, Blue, Red, Black in Europe.

Hi - we're in Scotland and thanks for pointing out the differences in trail gradings. Actually didn't know they differed across the pond. There aren't a huge number of orange routes over here yet but there are more of them popping up all the time. You can find them in trail centres across Scotland and the UK, including at Fort William. They sit between red and black routes in terms of difficulty. Smile
