Hey fellow mechanics. Got a question about travel adjust modifications.

I've got a Nomad and am looking to get something with just a little bit more travel. A Fox 36 170mm would be perfect. I am also interested in adjustable travel cus I currently use it all the time when climbing. All this being said, a Fox 36 Talas (170mm-150mm) would be perfect. You already know that such a thing doesn't exist...yet.

I am wondering if something like this could be "built" using parts from the airspring/travel adjust of a 2016 Fox 36 Talas (160mm-140mm) and a 2016 Fox 36 Float (170mm).

Opinions and possible experience (even with older models) would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Wrap a toe strap around the fork brace and crown. At the bottom of the climb compress the for and tighten the strap. At the top of the climb take off the toe strap. Taa Daa Homemade TALAS

I'm assuming you realize a 180mm-140mm Fox Talas does exist, correct?

It doesn't in 2015 or 2016 but it did back in 2014.

2014 Fox 36 Talas (180-140) and (170-130)

If there was a way to bring that back with the latest advancement in technology, that would be amazing.

It could be possible, but you would have to use a TALAS III cartridge. There is no TALAS V cartridge in 170mm.

I've got a 26" 2015 fox 36 160/120 and it's like butter. Way more plush than my float
