I am looking at upgrading my Boxxer RC to a Fox 40 Float for more adjustability. I found a couple good deals on the 27.5 versions of the 40, and wondering if its a bad idea to install my 26" wheel on the fork. Or should I do what Liteville did and ride with a 27.5 upfront and 26 in the rear?

Before do this, please consider this article:

The fork offset will likely be different between the 26 and 27.5 forks which may make the bike handle weird.

If it were me, i'd ride it 26" back and front, and replace your wheels with 650b when your 26" wheels break?
yes the handling wont be 'exactly' as designed.. but very little difference and I see no reason why it would cause danger to you or your bike.
the 40 is a huge upgrade to boxxer rc so you wont be disappointed
