I've just put up add for a ti spring, I have steel one I'd swap if yous had black marking or 6.5 on it. I'd sell the 5.5 steel for £40 posted.

So… I have had my fork serviced and a new softer spring put in and my forks are defenitley softer and I’m getting much more travel but, when I do the “drop” test for the forks they are extremely stiff and bounce of the ground. Any advice? Cheers

Hi - I have a set of 380s I plan on getting serviced but also want to put a heavier spring in.

I’ve already caught myself up with the previous posts regarding using a fox 40 ti spring and shaving the preload plunger down, but I’m having a hard time sourcing those springs as well. But I’ve found steel fox 40 springs from the same years so my question is should those work as well or do the dimensions change between steel/ti? (I don’t see why they would but want to double check before I order)

Or if anyone has extra firm Marz 380/ yellow fox 40 ti spring they’d like to sell me Smile

try posting this in the FOX sub-category too. You might find someone that has both and can measure the spring diameters for you.

FYI, Marzocchi Ti springs are ~ 0.5 - 1mm wider diameter than their steel springs. So a Marz Ti spring does not into their non Ti versions (black stanchions don't accept Ti spring)

Black stanchions do take ti springs, they just changed coating in last year. I had black c2r2 ti from last production year. From memory the non ti had less machining on outer between crowns but internals are the same.
