Anyone know if there is are any rigid 27.5+ that are single speed ready? I know the Charge 0 pretty much fits the bill, but it doesn't seem like the clearance is that great above a 2.8, plus I'm wary of eccentric bottom brackets. The surly Karate monkey capable, but again 2.8 looks like the max and it has pretty steep geo.
There are lots of b-plus bikes with squishy forks, but typically they're longer travel meaning putting a rigid for on there is gonna drop it down a lot.
What I'd love is the equivalent of a Kona UNIT but with clearance on the back for 27/3.0 tires so I could run skinny in the summer and fat in the winter.
I don't know of anything on the market but it sounds like a good idea to me. I imagine there are plenty of rigid 29r forks that would work for the front end but the single speed rear end may be tough to find. Would a trek stache be able to do this?

Maybe the old one, but the new one is geared towards 29+, which might mean some bad geo when you bring the wheel size way down. A SS Rigid 27+ seems like a no-brainer to me. Lots of rigid riders want chunky rubber, but 29+ just takes it to a whole new level of weight.
Hope hubs are perfect for that. There are a lot of choices for rim now: dt swiss xm551, mulefut 50, no tube Hugo... Maybe the only thing that can disturb is the 100bb for knees.
How is your search coming. I am looking to do the same and have the option for a single speed to run 27.5+ or 29. So far Carver 420, Vassago, and Russ Ti seem to be the best options

PB did a Kona expose and it seems for 2017 the Unit will be able to handle 27.5+. This could be kinda perfect, especially if they dont' boostilate it.
Same ol' unit pretty much, just with better clearance.
Funny, now that I've been out on my old 2011 unit I think I might be officially over rigid single speed bikes. There is a charm about them, and when the trail is smooth they can ride nice, but the reality is rigid bikes are just a pain in the ass (and arms) and handle so poorly compared to a bike with a bit of squish off the front. The new unit looks like it might be a nice option for a winter bike where I am, but not even sure I need a winter bike in my life.
