I was considering one after my Hightower but I decided on the Spark Plus instead. Slightly more aggressive geometry and a little more travel in the back also.

Yeah those look sweet too. I doubt I'd end up with a tallboy, they're such a terrible value. Maybe if I can snag a frame on closeout... I got my TBLTc frame for like $1749 from Competitive Cyclist as last year's model. It's gonna be a solid year before I can buy a new bike though, and I'll probably go through about 10 more bikes I'm fascinated with before that time comes. Who knows what I'll end up with.

I wish I could afford the Spark 700 Plus Tuned but it was about a grand over my set budget...plus they all sold out in January. I would have to buy a Scott demo version which has probably been put through the ringer. People who ride demos don't care enough to not abuse them.

O+

Another to throw in the mix is the Trek Fuel EX 9.7. 130mm rear, can fit 275x3.0 or 29x2.8, built as light as 24lbs or run as a 150mm forked trail brawler.

My end-game for the Spark 710 Plus will have it around 25 lbs. Stock is 29.1 with pedals. Should be able to get down to 25.25 lbs with new wheels, or 26.57 lbs without. That's changing cranks, brakes, derailleur(s), shifter, chain, tubes, stem, and/or wheels.
