and how much would a 142x12 be if I was gonna upgrade it would I have to buy a whole new hub or?

*Giant Dropout Kit 2014+ = $13 usd
*Giant RWS Rear Thru-Axle 12X142 = $60 usd

Ive read from several sources that the 142x12 has no noticeable effect on the newer trances. Turns out giant did a nice job stiffening the rear end.

yeh I get mine on the 20th can't wait. heard the 2016 fox forks are amazing noy sure how much play will be in the dropper tho

I had a 2014 trance that was qr but I upgraded it to 142x12 to accommodate better quality wheels. The thicker axle does not actually provide noticeable stiffness, it comes from the yoke that links the two sides of the rear triangle together
