Should I upgrade wheels?

I'm currently riding a 2014 giant trance 3 bike and have run into some rear hub trouble. It's a cup and cone giant brand hub and 2 ball bearings grenaded basically on a ride and caused damage to the bearing race. I dissembled, cleaned and regreased and I have a constant friction due to the damaged race. Now my dilemma is do I just replace the hub or do I just go and buy a full wheelset. I'm currently looking at the Hope tech enduro pro 4 setup as it is factory built as my lbs isn't easy to deal with. I have also thought about Hope pro 4 hubs with stans flow wheels and attempting the build myself. I plan on keeping the bike for a while as I have upgraded components to my needs already. Just kind of looking for justification to myself on dropping $550 on a wheelset (cad). Not sure if I'm crazy or not.

Ideally you could source the same hub from giant, then rebuild yourself. Maybe too much work if you've not done it before but likely you could reuse everything.

Next best option is a used wheel. Don't get too fancy.
