As pictured, the tyres weigh a shit ton ...so with sealent which i may have also over filled i recon it added 1 kg over the XR5's that were on

I can feel the weight when climbing, but it doesn't ruin the bike at all

When going down hill and comparing to the old one I can feel many noticeable improvements

.....but yeah ....she weighs a metric f*ck ton

This scale also seems to be a little whack ( shitty parktools being shitty )

Here it is with the Magic Mary's

Here it is with the original XR5's

Let me start by saying I need more coffee, so I'm going to be blunt. WHY? 150 is plenty, 160 for folks who think up-forking solves the reason their fork tuning sucks, 170 is a Slash.

What mounting hardware do I need for a Cane Creek DB Inline coil shock on a 2019 Trek Fuel EX 9?

Cannot get my head round all this

After much f*cking around I managed to get a coil shock onto my Fuel EX.

Now I'm thinking I need a slightly heavier spring. 500lb atm and sags a little too much I think....will 550 be a big jump or a small jump to remedy that?

Literally just today actually. Dont think I'm ball park on the spring yet. Expensive trial and error with this malarky.

Sprindex is adjustable so you can get a range of weights and adjust from there. Highly recommend.

I just finished by Ex Gen 6 build and had a solid evening of running laps to tune the suspension. I quickly realized that the spring calculator I used is off by a lot so I'm running way too much sag.

If anyone else is considering using a coil, use the link and image below to help you determine what you need.

Formula for calculating spring rate - Scroll down the page to "Spring Rate Calculation #1" http://canecreek.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-coil-springs-mtb/

See here for the Gen 6 spring rate chart.

Hope this helps! I have 2 standard black springs on the way (500lb and 550lb), and I'll update once I try them.

2 months in and what do you think of the coil ? I'm running the FLoat X FS which is nice but craving the feel of coil again

Anyone done a zeb or fox 38 on the 2023 fuel ex? I've got a dhx2 out the back but the hoping for some more girth up front as I'm 200lbs at 160mm travel
