I just upgraded my 2009 Fuel EX8 to a 1x11 Drivetrain and swapped to 27.5" hoops. Runs like a dream - this bike is truly a stalwart never say die kind of bike
This 2020 Fuel started life as a 9.9 X01 AXS P1 but donated some organs to a Supercaliber warranty replacement frame (drivetrain, dropper & wheels) and received like transplants from my broken '15 Top Fuel.
Here is my 9.9 XTR with DPX2 upgrade. Man this shock transforms the whole bike. Allready asked my dealer to tell Trek to stop with the Re:aktiv / Thru shaft stuff. A normal shock is so much better in every way... Lot firmer when locked out also.
Aprox 650 EUR and 120 EUR for the bushings etc... I did get forced to buy because the stock shock is already in service because of oil leakage and a knocking sound.. Since we have Corona now I had to get a new shock to keep riding. My shock is in quarantine in Belgium somewhere.. No idea when it will get back to me... The service station is on lockdown..
At that price I hope my shock stays intact. Here's my spare, a 2019 9.8, also w/ the mixed reviewed reactiv/thru...
Nice! have you been riding for a year on this one? If so, you probable have one of the few good shocks.. My dealer has a few 2020 demo's. All Fox versions are gone back because of knocking and oil leakage on top.
The '19 was acquired in January, after I built up the '20. Keeping fingers crossed neither will fail, and if one does, Fox will warranty with no fuss...

Oh boy, I had no idea about the shock having issues. I bought a slash and fuel ex 9.8 right before the CoVid news hit the fan. I have been trying to sell my slash that I’ve never ridden and plan to keep the fuel ex but maybe I should keep the slash? I haven’t had a chance to ride either but it’s starting to get ready outside
