I recently started experiencing even more problems with my ever-overwhelmed RS Revelation on my Norco Sight. I've decided to upgrade to a seriously better fork, as I'm tired of always fixing my revelation and dealing with the flex. I am a big boy (235lbs), so flex is a major issue.
I am planning on building a new bike over the winter, so this for would basically go right from my old sight onto a new bike (likely a Sight Carbon).
All that being said, I've got a couple forks I'm thinking of. My local shop has both a 34 Factory and a Pike RCT3 in stock and ready to roll.I have ridden both chassis (not these exact forks) and I liked the Pike but found the 34 just a little less consistent over a variety of terrain. The Pike is obviously hugely popular and with good reason, but I'm not convinced that it's the only option I should look at.
So, I'm wondering- Pike, MRP stage or a DVO Diamond? I've ridden the DVO emerald and loved it, especially the additional adjustments. I'd like to imagine that the Diamond is similarly adjustable and "beefy" feeling?
The MRP stage has also gotten my attention. I haven't ridden one yet, but the reviews are good and MRP has a surprisingly deep history with suspension. I also like that they're small and american made- not that it means much, but it's nice to know it's made by people who care.
I love my diamond. Although it's heavier than the rest it feels a bit stiffer than the pike and is more adjustable. As for damping, it feels like a mini emerald, super plush and composed I haven't ridden the stage, do I don't know how it compares
