when I'm setting chain length I put it onto smallest cog, split the chain, then pull it together till there is some tension on the mech. then remove the links that aren't needed.
or just remove a link at a time till you have some tension in the chain in the smallest gear.

mwilliams forgot to say that you should shorten your chain when the suspension is compressed to the point where the rear axle is furthest from the bottom bracket. As it looks now it might be too short, if you're ever in that gear when your suspension bottoms out, you might snap your chain.
