Hi all, first off I have a 2020 demo expert. I got a bomber cr rear shock as a cheap slight upgrade, but it appears that the shock eyelet body hits the linkage before it fully lines up to put the bolt through. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if this shock simply won’t fit these frames.

Do you have a picture?

No I don’t but I’ll take one to show better.

Has anyone ran one of the newer demos as full 27.5? is it even possible? I went from a 2017 demo to a 2021 and after two seasons I've decided I really hate the 29 in the front and want to go back to full 27.5. On my status I'm just going to up the fork travel but don't know how you would on a 200mm bike

Works great. I've been running full 27.5 for 2 years now. I initially had it setup mullet, but I didn't like the extra gyro force up front on jumps. I am still running the 29" fork though.

Hello,

I have a 2020 demo expert 29. I would like to mullet the bike. Does anyone know which linkage is needed for the switch?

Thanks

No linkage swap necessary. Just flip the chip near the rear axle on both sides of the rear triangle lower.

2020 models have no flip chip. They started it in 2021.

Does anyone know how to change the travel on the Ohlins DH 38 fork that comes with a Specialized Demo 29? I can’t find any air shafts for sale although there are some for sale for Ohlins other forks. Looking to change to 180mm travel.

Thanks

Email Ohlins. They are easy to talk to.

I did. I was curious if someone had a link to the product for sale while I’m waiting for a response.

Nah they will sell it to you direct. Their site doesn’t provide access to all their products. I’ve dealt with them many times give them a few days. They have a pretty good turn around.

Hi there!

I have a 2017 demo 8 and the groupset really needs some love. Ive managed to get hold of a descendant dh dub crank and I wondered what bb I need to go with it. Im assuming it would be the dub bb for pf/bb30??? I believe it would be for an 83mm cage??

Any reason why this wouldn’t fit the demo 8?

Your typical bag of mini hair bands should do the trick (You want them on tight so it lessens chance of them moving and getting destroyed).

Edit - Standard size band on the right. A little too big (loose), so get anything smaller than that and it will fit into the groove nicely when it stretches Smile

Did you ever find a decent place to source these? I’ve just taken mine out and they’re well past their sell by date
