A little help needed. I can't decide between these two..
I'm not into jumping and going hard Down Hill. I often like to go for 3-4 hours (30-50km/1000m vertical) long spins.
Can Swoop do this ? Is it worth it to pay that 700euro extra for Slide Trail?
Currently on 2013 Canyon Nerve AL+

Swoop 8.0 HA 65.8 - SA 76.8 170mm F/R Lyrik RC2/Monarch Plus, RC3 DT E1900 14.2Kg Aluminuim
2600 Euro

Slide Trail 9.0 HA 66.6 - SA 76.5 150mm F-140mm R Fox 36 Factory/DPX2 DT E1700 13.8Kg Carbon
3300 Euro

Not ridden both yet , but if you prefer you climbs than the DH I would personally go with the slide out of them two.

I choose the slide 9 because i Also go for 50/60km rides with gnar descents and i think the big wheels coupled with 140r/150f of travel and a 65.5° head angle are enough Also if you're going to ride DH courses and bikepark sometimes. I'm waiting for mine, Hope to receive It at the end of february/First of March.

I’m running 4. You have to take out the red ring that Fox fit.
I found this video with Chris Porter (Mojo) pretty useful. I’m only about 80kg in my riding kit, so figured it would be ok.

Hope this helps.

I have an X2 supplied as standard on my 2018 Swoop 170 10, it’s awesome!!
Needed some extra volume spacers to ramp it up, due to the linear leverage ratio, but that’s easily done.
Radon don’t recommend the climb switch version of the X2 though, as you’ll wreck it if you leave it on for a rough descent.
Never heard of a Swoop breaking...
What age was the YouTube bike? There used to be issues with lack of loctite, but that seems to have been solved.

Long time listener, first time caller.

How many spacers are you running Rat? Mine came with 3 installed; the Fox site reckons that's the max in the 2.5inch/63mm travel shock. Could do with a bit more ramp, so hoping a cheeky 4th can be wedged in there.

What do you think of the Slide Trail ? Is there any review out there ?

It looks like the perfect bike for me, despite being horrendous esthetically speaking: 29er 150/140, 36 GRIP2, DPX2, MT5, decent wheelset, GX Eagle on a carbon frame for 3k2€... Impressive.

Geo is quite nice too, 65.5HA, 75.5SA, 435CS, 464 reach in L, not bad at all. It seems like the rear end is progressive this time.

Every boxe ticks, except for the looks... but I could live with it.

Anyone try the 29er swoops out yet? I'm considering buying the 9.0.

That's reassuring! Based on the old reviews and checking the geometry I decided to pull the trigger on one yesterday. Can't wait to give it a spin now!

Has anyone order a 2019 bike recently? I ordered the swoop 170 8.0 yesterday and wondering how long I'll be waiting for delivery?

Is there anything that needs doing when setting it up, I remember reading about putting loctite on all the bolts as they work loose, is that still happening? Any suspension set up tips anyone has as well as I'm useless at that type of thing!

I would recommend bolt checking after or during your ride. The main pivot bolts on mine came lose on the first ride, just put a dab of lock tight on them and they have been ok but I have the habit of checking them now.

Yep, loctite everything! Check regularly as my shock bolts keep coming loose after/during a hard day at BPW.

Spend some time getting familiar with how the rear wheel axle screws in, the amount of times ive almost stripped the thread. #doh!

Amazing bike though! Still loving mine 18months on!

No need to loctite all bolt on new model are all good.
