Lol im sure you know i meant to replace the back wheel/hub with a front wheel.

Yeah, I did. Big Grin

It's just that you're getting sucked into OP's vortex!!!! Beer

Lol im just trying to point him in some direction. Might not be the right one but its some direction at least. I would never build a bike like that though, if im using my bike somewhere like a pumptrack, i would at least like the option of using the same bike to go somewhere, so drivetrain for me.

Not only don't you need cranks to pump track, the seat and seat post (above top tube) also isn't used....

I'm going to call it "Occams Razor"...

I find that leg positioning is really important to maintaining proper pump and balance when riding

That being said I'd prob use a crankset without a sprocket and chain if that was my goal so that I could still control leg positioning throughout my balance points, otherwise it would look kinda like a scooter...

just my two cents

It would be interesting to see a comparison or "shootout". Have a pump bike with cranks do a heap so runs find the average time and top speed, then remove the cranks having a side by side set up do the runs and check the averages....

In the Crankworks Pump track rules is says the bike must have minimum 26" wheels... So would a 26" 'Mountain scooter' be allow to race in the Crankworks pump track comp?
