Can't decide between the 2016 Trance SX or the 2017 Trance 2. I know the SX has overall better components (much better brakes at least), but with the changes to the Maestro suspension and Boost for 2017, allowing bigger tires...it makes it more appealing.

Thoughts?

Id go with the 2017. Seems like everything is running towards boost now. Not to mention the resale value of the SX if/when you decided to get something boost later on, would be minimal compared to current bikes on the market.
